How to add a word-of-the-day widget to your iPhone
To add a word-of-the-day widget, open Verba once, touch and hold the iPhone Home Screen, choose Edit and Add Widget, then select Verba and the size you want.
A vocabulary widget earns its space by making a word easy to notice without turning it into another task. You should be able to glance at the Home Screen, meet the word, and carry on with your day.
How do you add a word-of-the-day widget?
- Install Verba and open it once so iOS can make its widgets available.
- Touch and hold an empty area of the Home Screen until the apps begin to jiggle.
- Tap Edit, then Add Widget.
- Search for Verba, choose a size, and tap Add Widget.
- Drag the widget where you want it and tap Done.
Those steps follow Apple's current widget flow. If Verba does not appear in the gallery immediately, open the app again and return to the widget picker.
Which widget size should you choose?
The small widget is best when you want the word and pronunciation with almost no visual weight. The medium widget has room for a definition. The large widget can hold an example and a little more context. Start small; move up only if you regularly want more than the headword at a glance.
Where should a vocabulary widget go?
Put it on a Home Screen you already visit, not on a special “productive” page you rarely open. A position near Messages, Mail, or another ordinary daily app creates repeated exposure without requiring a separate study session.
Is seeing a word enough to remember it?
